Message There has been a lot of talk around here about boost-solutions in the past week or two. I just feel like I should share my experiences with George.
I bought my z about 5 months ago from a guy in NJ. I got a very good deal on it because the motor needed to be replaced. I got it home, bought a motor, new turbos, injectors, etc... I decided to take the job on myself. I got the new motor in the car in about a week. I was going to crank it and decided to check the oil. Well, when I pulled the dipstick out, the bottom lead part fell down into the oil pan. Talk about bad luck...

Anyway, I decided to call George at Boost Solutions and have him pull the motor BACK out to retrieve the bottom of the dipstick. Also we found out that the oil pump needed to be replaced. So I had the car towed to his shop, and was told the work would be complete in 1 week, and was given an estimate of $800 labor.

1 week turned into 2, and then it turned into 3. I was told daily that the car would be done that day, only to find out that I would not recieve a phone call. Hell, one time he told me it would be finished that night, so I decided to go up there and help him finish it up. Only to find that the motor was still out of the car. I was VERY dissapointed. Finally, after about a 3 weeks of wondering what the fuck was going on with my car, I got a phone call and was told it was finished.
I had my gf take me up there to get it, only to find out that it was running on 4 or 5 cylinders. The power steering lines were pouring fluid out of them. The steering wheel was rotated 180 degrees. And I was given a bill for $1800. How $800 turned into $1800 I will never know. I was given a summarized bill with a bunch of miscellaneous charges. It was like they charged me for anything they possibly could. I tried to drive my car home, only to find out that it would be right back in there because it was not drivable.

About 2 weeks later, the car was fixed to where it would run, still leaking PS fluid, and still with the steering wheel turned 180 degrees. I was told the steering wheel was "not fixable".

Anyway, I started on my 30 minute drive home. Only after 10 minutes, my car was overheating and had a leak out of one of the water lines. I kept pulling over to let it cool down, and finally got it babied home. I knew that the water lines needed to be replaced, so I decided to pull the plenum back off at my house. I was very pissed at the time. I got the plenum off, started to polish it, and decided to let George finish the polishing job. He said that since it was half-way done, his guy would do it for $150. So I thought that was pretty fair. After about a week George called me and said that I needed to bring him the throttle boddies because they were included in the quote of $150. So I took them to him. Only to find out a week later when I went to pick it up the price had changed to $250. He said that he didnt know why it changed. hmm.... I was wondering why he called me and told me that the throttle boddies were included in the quote??

So after all this time and money i've spent with this guy, I decided to give him one last chance.

I asked him if he would come over to the house the next week and help me put the water lines back in, and put the plenum back on. We agreed on a date, and he gave me a very reasonable quote to come over. I told him I would supply the pizza and beer. Well, that day rolled around, and I decided to call him about 4:00 PM to make sure he was still coming. He said he was and he would be there about 8:00. So I went ahead and ordered a few pizzas and tore into the beer :)

Only to find out that he would not show up, and not even bother to call.

I went to his shop the next day, and asked him why he did not call me. His answer was "Man, I was up all night working on the EVO".... WTF?

I could go on and on about this guy, but I think i've made this thread long enough. I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do, I'm just sharing my experiences. I run a bussiness myself, and I know that this is not how you treat customers.

George DID extend me credit a few times (after he charged me $1000 over a quote... ...) . I am greatful for that, but it was not worth the time and money I wasted. He is way too tied up in his own cars.

I dropped my car off at Z1 last night, so I will keep everyone posted on how it goes. I'm a firm believer in praising someone when they do a good job. Thats how I was raised, and thats how I treat MY employees and customers.
